Welcome to Round Table 1 Toronto

Our social group is made up of professional men and business men, 18 to 41, of all walks of life and backgrounds who want to help each other, in the community, and around the world while having fun and meeting interesting people.

We are the first ever Round Table club in Canada and aim to represent the values Round Table in our communities and in the betterment of young men through our connections around the world.  We aim to bring everyone together with the highest ethical ideals in mind and to improve the world around us.  All are welcome.  It is said in Round Table that there are no strangers, only friends you haven’t met yet.

As a Round Table club we extend membership to men of all walks of life, belief, identity, and background. We aim for diversity as bringing people from different mind sets and different backgrounds will improve everyone’s understanding and experience and widen all member’s perspectives.

Being new to the Round Table community, we are still small and looking to grow as a club, and open new clubs in cities and communities throughout Canada. We are exclusive, but we cater to all, and do not discriminate. Momentum is key.

As a club, our future plans are to grow what we have currently in Toronto, to assist in the formation of additional Canadian clubs in Toronto as well as other Canadian cities where there is interest, to help form a 41ers club (for men over 41), and to help Ladies Circle clubs form in Canada to bring our sisters of like mind and quality together.

Our Story

Round Table as a club was founded by Louis Marchesi in 1927 in the town of Norwich, Norfolk. The objects of the association are the encouragement of high ethical standards in commercial life, the promotion of fellowship amongst young professional and business men, and the quickening of individual interests in everything affecting the public welfare.

Founded on August, 6th 2017

In 2017, on the Canadian Civic Day weekend men and women from the Round Table/Ladies Circle communities such as Norway, Greenland, Denmark, USA, France, South Africa, and many more came to Toronto to witness the first ever Canadian chapter to be chartered.

It was with the support from the RT USA and RT Denmark clubs and the blessing of the Chairman of Round Table International that RT1 Toronto became an official member of the Round Table family.

That was over a year ago and since then we have run a very successful first AGM event for our club. New board members were elected and our official handbook was ratified. For everyone involved it was an eye opening experience to recognise our individual achievements as well as to see the club growing into something cohesive.

We have only just begun, and we have some ambitious plans to expand and reach as many communities in Canada as we can. We want to show case our wonderful country to everyone from around the world.

Social, Community, and International Events

Social Events

We promote fellowship among young professional and business men. Once a month we meet for either drinks in a unique part of town or take part in some sort of social gathering such as archery or laser tag, bowling, pool, or the like. Each member takes a turn in organising an event in their neighbourhood giving everyone a chance to experience the diversity of the city.

Charity Events

As a club we have committed to participate in charity events organised by our members. Together we raise money for a local music school and mental health awareness, as well as volunteering our time and energy to help feeding the hungry and build homes for the needy among other outreach projects.

International Relations

As members of an international community we have connections to clubs throughout the world such as USA, Denmark, Greenland, Germany, France, India, Mauritius, and The Caribbean to name a few. We host members from other countries when they come to visit and show them the city and the same is done for us when we travel around the world. There are no strangers in Round Table, only friends you haven’t met yet.
